Following the winter storm warning issued by the National Weather Service, Jacksonville University will maintain virtual operations today.

Jacksonville University and all its campuses/sites anticipate returning to normal operations tomorrow.

Certain areas may be impacted more severely than others. Continue to monitor your local news and follow guidance issued by local officials.

Caution: Icy road conditions will continue where temperatures remain at or below freezing. Please visit FL511.com for the latest roadway conditions and alerts to stay informed.

Faculty and Students: Please be mindful that classes today and submission of assignments may be interrupted or delayed by power outages. Students should monitor their inbox for communication from faculty for direction about their classes.

Campus Dining: Campus dining is offering extended weekend hours today. For updated information and hours of operation, follow @judining on social media or click here.

Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at 3:09 p.m. - Message to all students, staff and faculty regarding modifications to class and work schedules due to winter storm warning

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), Jacksonville is under a winter storm warning. The NWS expects Northeast Florida to experience snow, freezing rain and a wintry mix of precipitation. Potential impacts will begin at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 21. 
 
Following guidance from the NWS, beginning at 5 p.m., Jacksonville University and all its campuses/sites will be virtual and either synchronous or asynchronous, based on each faculty member’s choice.
 
Faculty and Students: Classes on Wednesday will be virtual and either synchronous or asynchronous, based on each faculty member’s choice. Classes and submission of assignments may be interrupted or delayed by power outages. Students should monitor their inbox for communication from faculty for direction about their classes. 
 
Staff and Administrators: Administrative offices will operate virtually on Wednesday. Please work with your supervisor if you experience interruptions or delays due to school closures and power outages. 
 
Palm CoastClasses on Wednesday will be virtual and either synchronous or asynchronous, based on each faculty member’s choice. Monitor your inbox for messaging directly from faculty about facilities and class scheduling.
 
College of LawClasses on Wednesday will be virtual and either synchronous or asynchronous, based on each faculty member’s choice. Monitor your inbox for messaging directly from the College of Law faculty about class scheduling and facilities. 
 
Healthcare Simulation Center - Beach BoulevardClasses on Wednesday will be virtual and either synchronous or asynchronous, based on each faculty member’s choice. Monitor your inbox for messaging directly from faculty about class scheduling and facilities. 
 
Student Health Center/Student Counseling CenterStudents with appointments on Wednesday will be rescheduled.
 
OrthodonticsWednesday morning appointments will be rescheduled. A decision regarding afternoon appointments will be made tomorrow morning.
 
Campus DiningCampus dining will close at 8:30 p.m. this evening and observe weekend hours tomorrow. For updated campus dining information and hours of operation, follow @judining on social media or click here.
 
Students should limit movement on campus and are encouraged to remain indoors once weather begins to deteriorate. Be alert to your surroundings and aware of black ice, slippery and unsafe walking/driving conditions.
